PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) captured third place in the 800 meters to post the highest finish of the day for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday at Williams Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded for the meet.
Biancuzzo placed third out of 42 runners in the 800 with a time of 1:59.76. Teammate Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) crossed the line in a time of 2:11.22 in the event.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) broke his own school record in the event by placing 12th with a time of 9.00 seconds.
Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) ran to a ninth-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:01.21. Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) recorded a time of 16:38.13 to finish 19th and Hafenstein was close behind in 22nd place with a time of 16:42.39.
Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) finished 10th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:22.88.
WLC's 4x400-meter relay team of Biancuzzo, Boerneke, Alexander Kirk (Waukesha, Wis./North), and Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) crossed the line in 3:42.12 to take eighth place. The 4x200-meter relay team of Boerneke, Kirk, Colin Sheahan (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg), and Andrew Guenther (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) took ninth with a time of 1:39.27.
Jeremy Fierros (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) tied for 16th in the pole vault with a height of 3.47 meters.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to competition next Saturday in the Panther Tune-Up at the Klotsche Center in Milwaukee.
