SOMERS, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team won the distance medley on the way to an eighth-place finish out of 10 teams at the Parkside Classic Saturday at Petretti Fieldhouse.
The Warriors claimed first out of four teams in the distance medley with a school-record time of 11:02.95, nearly 15 seconds ahead of second-place St. Norbert. The victory earned WLC 10 points as it finished with 23 points on the meet.
WLC had a number of strong finishers in the mile run, paced by Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) who captured third with a time of 4:31.01. Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) ran the mile in 4:31.61 to take sixth. Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) ran in 4:41.72 to finish 11th and Sam Wallace (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) finished close behind in 13th place with a time of 4:44.62.
Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) took ninth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:45.38 and Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) landed seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 16:04.65. Colin Sheahan (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) long-jumped a distance of 5.51 meters to finish seventh in the event.
In throwing events, Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 11.71 meters and 12th in the shot put with a throw of 10.61 meters.
St. Norbert won the meet with a score of 165 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational at 11 a.m.
