Men's Soccer Steamrolls Lakeland, 10-0

MILWAUKEE ( - Juan Serna (Milwaukee, Wis.) netted a hat trick and was one of seven different players to find the back of the net as the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team opened its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule with a dominating 10-0 win over Lakeland Wednesday night at Warriors Soccer Field. The win marked WLC's seventh straight over the Muskies.

  • The Warriors cracked the scoring column early in the 6' when Aedon Meurer (Waukesha, Wis.) knocked in a free kick from over 25 yards out that deflected off the out-stretched arms of the Lakeland keeper for a 1-0 lead.
  • Jason Cano (Delavan, Wis.) collected his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 15' after he drilled a shot home from 25 yards away, assisted by Meurer.
  • Serna struck for the first time in the 25' after he stole the ball from a defender and scored with ease from 15 yards away for a 3-0 lead.
  • KJ McNealey Jr. (Milwaukee, Wis.) joined the scoring parade in the 32' unassisted when his shot from 16 yards out found its way into the lower left corner of the net.
  • Jake Buhler (Greenville, Wis.) finished the first half scoring for WLC in the 45' after he finished home a cross sent in front of the goal by Noah Hernandez (Glendale, Wis.).
  • Wisconsin Lutheran continued its scoring barrage in the second half, scoring five more times, including twice within a minute 12 minutes into the second half.
  • Serna (57') and McNealey Jr. (58') added onto the five-goal margin with tallies assisted by Hernandez and Yussef Sahraoui (South Milwaukee, Wis.).
  • Sahraoui converted a penalty kick in the 72', Serna again scored from close range in the 83'', assisted by Mario Caldwell (Milwaukee, Wis.), and Colin Killberg's (Racine, Wis.) header from Miguel Sanchez Cordero (Milwaukee, Wis.) with just 0:01 second left capped off the 10-0 win.

  • The Warriors totaled a season-high 30 shots, including 14 on frame. Wisconsin Lutheran had a pair of games with over 30 shots a season ago.
  • Serna collected a team-high eight shots, while Cano was right behind with seven.
  • Despite the large shot differential, Wisconsin Lutheran attempted just four corner kicks to the Muskies' one.
  • Cedric Guichard (Plantation, Fla.) earned his first win of the season in net, making two saves in 85 minutes.
