Warriors Suffer First NACC Loss

MILWAUKEE - First-place MSOE shutout the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team 3-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action Saturday at MSOE Field. It was the first NACC loss for the Warriors (5-4-3, 2-1-1) while the Raiders (7-1-3, 4-0-0) stayed unbeaten in conference play.

The Warriors out-shot MSOE 9-7 in the opening half, but the lone goal of the half belonged to MSOE. Aleksander Spasic scored in the 38th minute on a cross from Gerardo Rubio to put the Raiders ahead 1-0 going into halftime.

MSOE out-shot WLC 12-4 in the second half and added two more goals. Brock Shilling struck in the 68th minute and Gerardo Rubio scored in the 85th minute, both goals coming off of corner kicks. Logan Andryk led MSOE with six shots.

Warriors forward Jake Semmann (Grafton, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) continued his aggressive offense from the past few games as he led WLC with five total shots, including two shots on goal. Sophomore Austin Drake (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) added three shots and two on goal.

Goalkeeper Jon Stewart (Waukesha, Wis./South) recorded six saves for WLC. Garrett Farin stopped five shots for MSOE.

WLC hosts a NACC game Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Dominican (6-4-0, 4-1-0) at Warrior Field.
