Men's Golf Ties For Fifth At Spring Invitational

WAUKESHA, Wis. ( – James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) tied for an eighth-place finish with a 76 (+4) as the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team tied for a fifth-place team finish at the WLC Spring Invitational Saturday at Morningstar Golfer's Club.

  • Top WLC Individual: James Michaelson (+4), T-8th of 88

  • Michaelson tied for an eighth-place finish in the 88-player tournament field with a 76 (+4) as an individual performer.
  • Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis.), Johnny Kositzky Jr. (Escanaba, Mich.), and Ben Landvatter (Watertown, Wis.) tied for 21st place in the event with each firing a 77 (+5).
  • Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) and Quinn Schultz (Chaseburg, Wis.) rounded out the scorers for WLC, each shooting an 80 (+8).
  • Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) and Trey Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) also carded individual rounds of 81 and 86, respectively. 

  • Adrien Jackson of Division II UW-Parkside took home medalist honors with an even par 72.
  • Concordia Wisconsin took home the team title, shooting a 303 (+15). 

  • The Warriors return to the links Friday, April 26 when they travel to Mequon to take on Concordia Wisconsin in a dual match. Tee time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the River Club of Mequon.
