Bukielski Leads Men's Golf At MSOE Invitational

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team finished 13th out of 16 teams Sunday and Monday at the MSOE Invitational at Grand Geneva Resort. Stephen Bukielski (Schaumburg, Ill.) tied for 26th out of 80 players with a two-round 154 to lead the Warriors.

  • Bukielski paced the Warriors with a two-day 154 (76-78) to tie for 26th in the 80-player field. It was the junior's seventh and eighth rounds in the 70s this season.
  • Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis.) carded rounds of 79 and 81 to tie for 43rd with a 160. It was the third time Disch posted a 79 in a round this season.
  • Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) recorded a 79 and 84 for a 163 and tied for 53rd. The first-round 79 was his second-lowest of the season.
  • James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) completed the scoring for WLC with a 164 (80-84) for 59th.

  • Edgewood posted a two-round 584 (287-297) to win the 16-team event by five strokes over runner-up UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds' Nick Bauer and Alex Rogan finished tied atop the 80-player leaderboard at -1 (142).

  • Wisconsin Lutheran also competes today and tomorrow at the Ronnie Eastman Invitational at La Crosse Country Club in Onalaska. Round one play was suspended due to rain and will resume tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. before round two play begins.
