Men's Golf Finishes Fourth At Home Fall Invite

HARTFORD, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team finished fourth out of 11 scoring teams at the WLC Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Washington County Golf Course. The Warriors recorded 12 rounds in the 70s at the two-day tournament, which included six count five scoring,

  • Stephen Bukielski (Schaumburg, Ill.) tied for 10th overall to lead the Warriors. He fired a two-day 149 (74-75) to finish seven shots back.
  • Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) and Ben Landvatter (Watertown, Wis.) tied for 18th with identical 152s. Gnewikow carded a season-low 74 in Sunday's final round, while Landvatter tied a season-low with a 75 Saturday.
  • Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis.) tied for 29th with a two-round 156 (77-79) and James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was one shot behind with a 157 (78-79) for 33rd.
  • Quinn Schultz (Chaseburg, Wis.) posted identical rounds of 79 to lead WLC's second team with a 36th-place overall finish.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran, which stood in second after round one, finished with a 766 (382-384). The Warriors were one shot back of Concordia Wisconsin and four shots back of Carthage.

  • Edgewood took home the team championship with a two-day total of 737 (+17). The Eagles maintained the top spot over both days of the tournament and shot +3 as a team on Sunday to win going away by 25 shots. Jordan Knutson of Carthage, which finished runner-up, earned medalist honors after firing a -2 (73-69-142).

  • The Warriors begin a busy stretch on the links Thursday when they compete in the Elmhurst Fall Invite at Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Ill. Tee time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
