Men’s Golf Garners Third Straight GCAA Team Academic Award

NORMAN, Okla. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team has been honored for the third straight season with an 18Birdies Team Academic Award by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced Friday.

The Warriors recorded a 3.16 team grade-point average during the 2017-2018 academic year with all seven student-athletes posting a mark of 3.0 or better in both semesters. Wisconsin Lutheran was one of three NACC teams honored as an All-Academic Team, along with Benedictine and Edgewood.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year and carry a team GPA of 3.00 or higher. A record number 222 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn 18Birdies All-Academic Team recognition.

Wisconsin Lutheran opens its 2018 fall season August 31 at the Culver's-Edgewood Fall Invitational in Janesville.
