MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College's Sasha Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week for the games played Saturday, September 29, as selected by the league's sports information directors. This is the first conference weekly award for the Warriors' senior specialist.
Bornschlegl hit two field goals and a pair of extra points Saturday afternoon as Wisconsin Lutheran defeated Rockford, 26-20, in overtime. He drilled a 33-yard field goal with just 21 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime where the Warriors would take the victory. Bornschlegl had connected on a 23-yard field goal earlier in the game. He also punted five times for an average of 37.8 yards per kick and a long of 50, while pinning the Regents inside their own 20-yard line on two occasions.
The Warriors (1-3, 1-0 NACC) continue NACC play Saturday when they travel to Eureka (4-0, 1-0 NACC) for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
