Colton Punches is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball team. In his first season guiding the Warriors' pitching staff, WLC racked up a program-record 239 strikouts. 

Punches joined the Warriors coaching staff after completing a four-year playing career at Huntington University where he was a four-year letterwinner on the Foresters baseball team.

Punches compiled a 7-2 career record and a 2.45 earned run average in his four seasons as a Forester and led the Crossroads League with a 1.86 ERA his senior year, good for eighth overall in the NAIA. Punches tossed three complete games with two shutouts, including one in the conference tournament against Mount Vernon.

Punches was a member of the Foresters team that won the Crossroads League regular season and conference tournament in 2017.

A 2014 graduate of Clare High School in Clare, Michigan, Punches was a four-year letterwinner in baseball and a two-year letterwinner in football and basketball. On the diamond, Punches was a two-time Second Team All-Conference performer and a First Team All-Conference pitcher in 2014. He was named All-district and All-Region in 2013. Punches posted a 22-5 record and a 1.56 ERA during his high school career. He also holds the school record for interceptions in a season (eight) and was a First Team All-Conference defensive back in 2013 and 2014. 

Punches, who is pursuing a Master of Arts in leadership and innovation from WLC, resides in Milwaukee.
