Warriors Cross Country Teams Honored By USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's and women's cross country teams have earned 2012 All-Academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced February 22. In addition, sophomore Marya Haegler (West Bend, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) earned All-Academic Cross Country status.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better. The Warriors men's team, who recorded a team GPA of 3.12, was one of four schools from the Northern Athletics Conference which received the honor. On the women's side, the Warriors totaled a 3.38 team GPA and were one of five NAC schools to make the list.

Individually, Haegler was also selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team after placing 33rd at the 2012 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional. She was one of two student-athletes from the NAC to receive the honor. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
