WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s cross country team competed at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The Warriors placed 29th out of 39 scoring teams at the event with 804 points.

Leading the way for Wisconsin Lutheran was freshman Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) as he finished the 8K race in a season-best time of 26:47, good for 108th in the 271-competitor field. Finishing just behind Robles was junior Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran), who completed the race in a personal-best time of 26:53.

Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) was next in line for WLC as the sophomore ran a personal-best 28:07, while Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) crossed the finish line in a time of 28:50. Rounding out the scoring for the Warriors was Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) as he finished the course in 28:59.

Also competing Saturday for WLC were Mike Huempfner (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) and Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) as the duo finished the race with season-best times of 29:02 and 29:05, respectively.

North Central claimed the team title at the Midwest Regional Championships as it finished with 58 points, easily out-distancing runner-up Wis.-La Crosse (114). Wis.-Stout's Tim Nelson was the top finisher, completing the 8K course in a time of 24:24.
