Warriors set four school records in St. Louis
Four newcomers add names to record books

Freshman Amanda MarkhamST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team set four school records at the Washington University Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Bushyhead Track. The Warriors scored four points during the two-day event.
Freshman Zakkiyya Jones (Milwaukee, Wis./Oak Creek) set a new school record in the 200-meter dash with her time of 27.21. She placed 39th out of 81 competitors in the event. Jones also placed 25th out of 55 competitors in the 100-meter dash (13.02).
Freshman Amanda Markham (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) placed sixth out of 20 competitors in the 100-meter hurdles with a new school-record time of 15.78. Markham narrowly missed out on another school record in the 400-meter hurdles with her 10th-place time of 1:08.85.
In the field events, freshman Amanda Bregger's (Waukesha, Wis./South) leap of 2.90 meters in the pole vault was good for a 10th-place finish and a school record. Freshman Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) also etched her name into the record books at WLC with her throw of 33.40 meters in the javelin. Ebeling's eighth-place finish also earned the fourth team point of the two-day event for the Warriors.
Other solid performances for Wisconsin Lutheran included Alyssa Schumacher's (Johnson Creek, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) 16th-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:23.73), Ellen Schwartz's (Janesville, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) 18th-place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:02.75), and Sarah Frelich's (Maribel, Wis./Denmark) 23rd-place finish in the 1500-meter run (5:08.71).
St. Louis University, which won four events, scored 128 points and was crowned champions of the invite. Illinois Wesleyan was second with 74.33 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran resumes outdoor competition next Friday, April 6 at the Wis.-Whitewater Rex Foster Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
